Why Putting Yourself First Isn’t Selfish.. It’s Necessary!
The past few months I’ve been going through a massive healing period. Self-growth. Deep reflection. Rebuilding from the inside out. And let me tell you, it feels damn good to finally be in control of my own life.
But here’s the thing: learning to actually put yourself first is hard. Society wires us to please, to give, to hustle for everyone else’s approval. Yet if you never stop and ask, what do I truly need? … there’s no growth.
"You can’t pour from an empty cup. Fill yourself first, and watch everything around you shift."
When I finally started listening to my own needs, my world changed. I want to share my secret to living your best life, simple daily practices that keep me grounded, energised, and aligned.
My 10 Non-Negotiables for Self-Growth
Digital detox: Remove anyone and anything on social media that doesn’t serve you. Stop giving a f*ck about likes. The ones who call you are the ones who actually matter.
No scrolling mornings or nights: Protect your brain. Guard your energy.
Read books: Feed your mind with words that expand you, not drain you.
Meditation + breathwork, every damn day: This isn’t optional. It’s how you reset and return to yourself.
Ditch coffee, switch to matcha & broth: Less anxiety, more calm energy, gut-friendly and nourishing.
Phone-free windows: Set periods in your day where you have zero devices. No guilt about unanswered calls. Freedom.
Move your body: Pilates, yoga, or whatever makes you feel powerful and in your feminine flow.
Plan tomorrow today : Write your to-do list the night before. Wake up with clarity, not chaos.
Journal nightly: Process your thoughts, release the noise, track your growth.
Get 8 hours of sleep : Non-negotiable. Your body, mind, and soul demand it.
The Truth About Self-Priority
This isn’t about being selfish. It’s about finally giving yourself the respect you deserve. When you’re aligned, healthy, and at peace, you show up better for everyone else anyway.
So start today. Cut the noise. Fill your own cup. Build rituals that fuel you. Because your best life isn’t waiting for anyone else’s permission… it’s waiting for you.
